Stargazer Audio is the "executive arm" of Stargazer Music Productions. Created to serve in priority the audio needs of the Eugenides New Digital Planetarium, it is a small but wonderful place to work! Designed by acclaimed acoustician Sotiris Psarras, supervised by acoustic engineer John Petrogiannis and meticulusly constructed by Stelios Tsakiris, at it's heart is a Digidesign ProTools HD3/192io system on a Macintosh (G5) platform, which can handle up to 6.1 (IMAX spec*) surround mixes. Music productions also use a cluster of 4 PCs that run soft samplers and synths, summed to a Creamware PowerPulsarII DSP card and it's virtual instruments. At the front end is LogicPro, for it's unmistakable music and sound design creation capabilities. We also have hundrends of gigas in sound effects (libraries and custom made) and for orchestra emulations we use the Vienna Symphonic Library (Pro Edition).

Special care has been taken so that the Director has a comfortable view of both the TV monitor and the actor, dramatically easing the narration/ADR process.
The monitoring system consists of 6 JBL LSR6328P speakers and a JBL LSR6312SP subwoofer. Our micro-perforated projection screen ensures that the sound from the LCR speakers passes through accurately.

And of course you can rest assured that incremental and archive backups are routinely kept so that, no matter what happens, you have a way back to your precious project(s).

We also provide limited video and DVD authoring services. An Avid Mojo edit suite, based on a Macintosh G5 dual platform, ensures that a last minute edit is possible (as long as materials are available), without losing time going back to the video post-prod studio. We can digitise all video formats (analog/digital, PAL, NTSC) and print a reference digital cut to BetacamSP or VHS (PAL only). For DVD authoring we use Apple's DVD StudioPro.
